  • Berkay, founder and Managing Director of the DBG group, previously held an Europe-wide Operational role in a cutting edge agri-biotech company. This regional perspective gives him experience and knowledge into the rapidly expanding Green Energy and Circular Economy sectors.His broad experience in the DACH region and the Benelux, has given him a solid network within the producing industries and renewable energies.Berkay is passionate about green energy and the circular economy and hopes his contribution will make a great global environmental impact.

  • Akin has held multiple leadership roles in Agricultural Processing and Specialty chemicals in Cargill, working in Food Ingredients, Feed Specialties and Specialty Chemicals markets.
    He has operational experience as General Manager covering customer management, manufacturing, procurement, commodity/trading and risk management functions.
    In his near 25 years in the agriculture based supply chain, he led R&D, Sales & Marketing for the Fermentation and Biotechnology sector.
    He also brings in Corporate Development experience; Global Corporate Strategy, M&A, bolt-on technology acquisitions, Green and Brown field investments.

  • André has 25 years corporate experience in banking and the oil & gas industry.
    The last 12 years he has been active in strategy and business advisory roles in the Middle- and Far East. Building businesses and initiating change were part and parcel of his career.
    He is a strong advocate of the move towards new fuels and the circular economy.

  • Sinan has experience of navigating the contracts world for over a decade. At DBG Bio Energy, he takes responsibility for creating and reviewing contracts with our potential EPC parties, technology providers and equipment suppliers. Sinan has a background in civil engineering and construction management.
    He is intrigued by the world of new energies and is positive it will challenge him professionally.

  • Albart leads the project managment of our technical projects. His main responsibility is getting our first plant in Delfzijl up and running. In later stages, also Amsterdam and Vlissingen will follow.
    Albart is a chemical engineer with 14 years of relevant Project Management & Engineering experience in EPC/EPCM for engineering contractors. Here, he was in charge of the execution of small and large scale projects in oil and gas, chemistry and food industry. In recent years, he mainly focussed on projects in renewable industries. It is for that reason that Albart is delighted to join DBG’s green journey.

  • Michael is DBG Deutschland GmbH’s managing Director in Germany and liaises with the German paper mill network. Michael is in charge of negotiating, maintaining and renewing paper sludge feedstock contracts with paper mills, organising the logistics of paper sludge and dealing with administrative matters regarding cross-border transportation of sludge.
    Michael knows the German paper & pulp scene like the back of his hand. He has over 20 years of experience in the paper industry. During the past 10 years, Michael worked in the waste upcycling sector and the time before as a purchaser by a paper mill.

  • Kyriakos oversees the process design of our first plant in Delfzijl (Groningen Seaports). His main scope of responsibility is to guarantee that different areas of the plant -developed by various parties-meet the design specifications to be compatible to each other. He ensures that the deliverables of outsourced engineering meet the standards of DBG. Additionally, Kyriakos will ensure that safety assessments are performed according to standards.As senior process engineerwith twenty years of experience and a Professional Doctorate in Engineering, Kyriakos runsat the forefront of the technical development and implementation of the plan to build 5 plants in 5 years.

  • As Office Manager, Maureen supports all our activities: she takes care of the organisation of the daily hectic programme, both on a practical as well as administrative level. Maureen is our office’s sunshine and calming force, making sure the DBG offices run smoothly. She also acts as a liaison between DBG and the different stakeholders, manages agenda’s and travels. Maureen has 40 years of experience as personal assistant and office manager in the public and private sector.

  • As DBG’s Research and Sustainability Expert, Silvia focusses on maintaining the relationships with DBG’s feedstock suppliers. She oversees the whole process: from feedstock to output. Silvia also engages in laboratory activities such as testing and analysing.

    With a master’s degree in Sustainaility Science, Policy & Society and a passion for the energy transition, Silvia is excited to be part of an organization that provides the means to deal with the uncertainties of our future.

  • Igor supports the project development team through establishing and maintaining contacts with relevant stakeholders. Coordinating project activities with a variety of stakeholders such as ports, permitting authorities and utilities, thereby ensuring effective communication and coordination among team members and key contributors throughout the different projects currently in development at DBG.

  • Mirjam works for the DBG Deutschland team as Assistant Managing Director. The core activity of the German team is maintaining a strong relationship with the German paper mills. Mirjam’s 20 years of experience in the paper industry, provides her with the necessary network in and understanding of the sector.
    At DBG Deutschland, Mirjam supports the managing director with commercial support, administration, finance, logistics and agenda management.

  • As our Financial Controller, Maikel is responsible for the financial matters of the DBG activities in the broadest sense of the word. He focusses on the general financial aspects of operating our organisation and issues related to the construction of our DBG plants. Doing so, he takes charge of financial planning, budget control and financial project management.
    Maikel is an experienced Project Control professional, with a background in working on large scale construction projects in the energy industry.

  • With a background in environmental sciences, green energy and technologies, Karime has advised businesses in the hospitality industry on effective ways to reduce their environmental impact by optimizing their waste management and energy consumption.

    At DBG, Karime played an essential role during the initial developments of the DBG Technology Center. Currently, she manages several sustainability projects within the company. Karime is also responsible for conducting market and scientific research on carbon economics and other relevant topics such as RED II, III, energy, sustainability, markets, paper-waste industry, and others.

  • With a vast academic background in environmental governance and international business. Her extensive experience across international organisations and private sector industries worldwide has been pivotal in advancing business relations and projects towards a greener future.

    At DBG, Maja supports the team by maintaining and enhancing the relationships with our feedstock suppliers.
