Enzymatic Technology.

DBG Bioenergy converts challenging fibrous sludges from the paper industry into biomethane. Through continuous R&D we apply an advanced enzymatic pre-treatment know-how that lowers viscosity, improves solubilisation and enables stable anaerobic digestion.

Our approach combines biocatalytic hydrolysis with optimized mixing and shear to disintegrate fibres and produce a pumpable paste that can be diluted and fed into standard digesters. The concept is vendor-agnostic and can be adapted to multiple process routes and equipment suppliers.

Repowering non-recyclable paper sludge reduces landfilling/incineration and unlocks long-term, predictable feedstock for renewable gas. Across Europe, paper producers generate significant sludge volumes that can be valorised into biomethane and soil products, supporting circularity and CO₂ reductions.

DBG Bioenergy’s process know-how is independently engineered and vendor-agnostic. We do not claim ownership of third-party patents or trademarks.
