DBG Bio Energy B.V. Managing Director, Berkay Güres, and Head of Strategy, André van Iersel, attend Future of Biofuels conference in Copenhagen, Denmark, 5th-6th October 2021
13 October 2021, Amsterdam: Recently, DBG Bio Energy B.V. Managing Director, Berkay Güres, and Head of Strategy, André van Iersel, attended the third European Conference on the “Future of Biofuels” conference in Copenhagen, Denmark to understand and advocate for the potential for second and third generation biofuels.
Last week, Berkay and André attended the Future of Biofuels conference in Copenhagen using the opportunity to meet many of the industry sectors and companies involved in the rapidly-developing sector face-to-face for the first time in over 2 years: feedstock providers, corporate customers for the biofuels, logistics and transport companies who would not only transport the products, but also actually use the fuels themselves, expert Engineering, Procurement and Construction Companies (EPC) with the experience of constructing biofuel- production sites and many other entities. DBG were also active in not only listening, but also advocating for the opportunity for the use of second and third generation biomass feedstock in their planned DBG plants.
Berkay Güres, Managing Director of DBG Bio Energy B.V. said: “The past few years have made us all adapt to the new working environment due to the Covid pandemic so it was particularly inspiring to meet up with other companies and their representatives face to face. Everyone took the opportunity to work hard face to face. DBG was particularly keen to reinforce and explain the opportunities for not only business but also for the environment and society as a whole of high quality biofuels produced from industrial waste streams currently being incinerated or landfilled”.
André van Iersel, Head of Strategy for DBG Bio Energy B.V. said: “We have been progressing well with our plans for our first sites for the processing of industrial waste streams into biofuels and other green products so it was energizing to meet like-minded businesses in Copenhagen. DBG has ambitious plans and looks forward to working with other partners as the biofuels sector expands to meet Europe’s green energy needs”.
