Results of cooperation between Sweco and DBG Bio Energy are starting to show

Soil investigations on the DBG plot in Delfzijl

Architecture and engineering consultancy Sweco and DBG Bio Energy B.V. have partnered up to establish the first bio-energy plant in the Netherlands.

For some time now, Sweco has been highly involved in many different aspects of the engineering, as well as in the process of securing the permits for the plot in Delfzijl to be operational by the second half of 2022.

Last week, Ad Meijwaard, Head of Industry at Sweco, and Berkay Güres, founder of DBG, sat together at Sweco’s office in De Bilt, to discuss the current state of affairs and deepen the mutual relationship.

Within Sweco, Rudy Schuitema and Stephan Kos are working in close cooperation with our DBG colleague in the North, Gerlof Hotsma. They join forces in the process of the MER application and for the full permit applications needed to start operations in Delfzijl.

Last Friday, Wiertsema & Partners carried out soil investigations of the plot on behalf of Sweco, because one of the permits requires testing of soil samples. Some DBG colleagues were there to witness the works happening. The samples will be analyzed so as to determine its composition and further the permit applications. More to follow soon…
