Karime: our new Energy and Environmental asset at DBG
Karime recently graduated with honors from a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences for Sustainable Energy and Technology. During her studies, she conducted an internship in Panama focusing on energy optimization and waste management for a hospitality business and contributed to a local permaculture and reforestation project. Moreover, she wrote her thesis on in-situ soil remediation methods for an operating petroleum-fractions and biofuel storage facility in Gothenburg, Sweden. Karime has also contributed to consultancy work for the Panamanian Ministry of Environment on the creation of mitigation and climate adaptation plans using Artificial Intelligence and capacity building. She participated in the most recent Convention of Parties (COP26) as personal assistant to the Head of the Panamanian Delegation and took part in the creation of an International Youth Coalition driving youth-led political interventions and policy changes within the Paris Agreement.
Karime is highly passionate about sustainability and has a deep connection with the climate movement. Her goal is to bring positive and meaningful change by putting her knowledge, motivation, and skills into action, bringing effective and sustainable solutions as Energy and Environmental Specialist at DBG.
